ARTESCA Cyber Guarantee

We put $100,000 behind your cyber resilience

When ransomware strikes, your backup storage must hold.

That’s why Scality stands behind ARTESCA with a $100,000 cyber guarantee.

If an external cyberattack results in the encryption or deletion of data stored on ARTESCA, we issue a direct one-time $100,000 payment. It’s that simple.

“We’re putting our money where our architecture is.”

Jérôme Lecat

CEO, Scality

Why this cyber guarantee is different

Most cyber guarantees rely on service credits and caveats. Scality is putting real money on the line.

For many ARTESCA customers protecting 50TB or more, the $100,000 payment represents a multiple of their annual software investment. Ours is the strongest proportional guarantee in the industry.

The cyber-resilient architecture behind our $100K commitment

We don’t offer a guarantee because it sounds good.
The ARTESCA Cyber Guarantee exists because of the strength of the platform.

Native object immutability

Enforced at the API and storage architecture level using S3 Object Lock in compliance mode, preventing modification or deletion even by admins

CORE5 cyber resilience

Multi-layer protection spans identity, API access, storage, and operations — limiting lateral movement and reducing attack surface

Backup-first design

ARTESCA is purpose-built object storage for immutable backup workloads, designed to ensure recovery under ransomware conditions

Who qualifies for the cyber guarantee?

The $100,000 guarantee applies to commercial ARTESCA deployments that meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of 50 TB licensed capacity in production use
  • ARTESCA version 4.1.3 or higher
  • Software kept current on supported releases
  • Protected data stored using S3 Object Lock in compliance mode
  • Deployment aligned with recommended security practices

Full terms are defined in the ARTESCA EULA.

What qualifies as a “cyber incident”?

A qualifying incident is a demonstrable encryption or deletion of data stored on an ARTESCA-managed volume as the direct result of an external, unauthorized cyberattack (such as ransomware).

Guarantee does not apply to incidents resulting from:

  • Data exfiltration without encryption or deletion
  • Compromised credentials stored outside ARTESCA
  • Shared credentials
  • Unauthorized actions by approved personnel
  • Customer indemnity obligations

Written notice must be provided within 48 hours of discovery, along with reasonable cooperation during root cause analysis.

Cyber-resilient storage. Guaranteed.
